UKHG supports...

Background

For the past few winters UKHG's organiser Gems has run off with the circus to far away lands to volunteer on humanitarian aid projects.

In 2009/2010 she travelled with Performers Without Borders around India, teaching circus and performance skills to underprivileged children from Varanasi to Darjeeling. (See photos HERE).

In 2011 she travelled with Spark! Circus to the Thai/Burmese border where she ran playshops and performed shows to migrant workers and refugee children affected by the Burmese civil war. (See photos HERE).

What next?

We are in the process of setting up a UK Hoop Gathering 'Charitable Fund' which will accept donations or fund-raising from anyone who would like to help us. The goal of the fund is that UKHG will be able to support other charities/aid groups when they need some assistance, and that UKHG will have a supply of available aid money for situations such as natural disasters or even to help support some of the cost to send Gems and others out on other worthwhile projects, like PWB and Spark! in the future.
